Doesn’t Friday finish sound so much better? This was actually a Saturday finish… i really can’t bring myself to bind things immediately. I need a certain amount of time to avoid and lament over the binding process before I begin. I guess that is my first world problem.
I made a set of large potholders (trivets?) for a bridal shower I went to yesterday. The bride loves the beach, so I chose colors that reflected the sea. I did not know until Friday that I was going, so the time constraints dictated these be whole-cloth. Still, I am very happy with the look.
I purchased these fabrics from Maureen Cracknell during the great destash on instagram. I am drawn to large scale prints… and have no use for them. They are so pretty that I don’t want to cut them up for the patchwork I usually do. So they sit on the shelf. This may be the perfect solution for the rest of the large scale prints.
I quilted the straight lines first to secure it. I spent some time thinking about the rest, but in the end went with my usual loops. I am definitely getting better at them!
They finished at approx 11″ and the bride seemed very excited to receive them.
Next up is binding my wonky log cabins. The wedding is THIS COMING WEEKEND so I really can procrastinate no longer.
